You must have a basic understanding of
grid creating and maintenance, template maintenance, hotkey maintenance, and configuration access and settings to understand this article. I you do not please read up on these things in the knowledgebase or contact your Hudson technician.
The Landmark Locations are a list of locations categorized into sub types. They are added, managed, and accessible in the local software only. *These are not fare file locations. *No pricing is generated from this list. It is used only as a quick way to insert location names, street addresses, and specific information about that location into a reservation.
These Landmark Locations can be inserted in the pickup or drop-off address fields, the extra stops field, or the hourly details field.
The following is a guide to setting up and using this technology.
You must have a database version of 146 or higher and a software version 190c or higher. You also must give yourself the user privileges to add and to edit Landmarks. An article on accessing and updating user privileges can be found here:

grid option. Choose the
grid type Landmarks View. Go to
grid layout. Hide all of the fields except ID, Type, Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code. Optimize the
grid then save it in the templates folder as Landmarks.
gdf2. Create a hot key to be used in this
grid to add new landmarks. Create a menu group called Landmarks. Use the Record Type dispatcher action menu and call it Add New Landmark. Use the function Landmark Add New and the parameters TYPE=RE,COUNTRY=US
3. Create a hot key for loading the
grid in the Agent. Use the menu group Landmarksel. Use the Record Type Agent special action. You don't need a caption. The function is File open (view only) and the parameters are Landmarks.

4. Create a template used to copy the info from the
grid to the hourly details/extra stops/pickup-drop address. Open notepad and use tokens to specify what fields you want to copy from the landmarks.
gdf grid into the reservation. An example would be a text file that looked like this:

Save the file in the template directory as Landmark.txt.
Go to your template configuration and create a template. The template alias is Landmark and the template type is dispatcher copy. Double click inside the primary file field and then find and select the text file you just created. Save the template
5. Open up Landmarks.
gdf again in your dispatcher. Go to
grid properties then the templates tab. Select the template Landmark that you just created in the Copy Template drop down list. Click Ok then save the
grid. Before closing
Grid Properties, perform step 5a below.
5a. Select the Custom Menus Tab. In one of the available Right Mouse drop down lists, select Landmarks.
6. Create Landmark Types in the codes table (ie. Restaurant, Hospital, Church, Stadium) - Application configuration - general configuration - codes table. The groups type is called Landmark Types.
Adding Landmark locationOpen the dispatcher
grid called landmarks.
gdf. Right click and choose Add New Landmark.
In the window that opens you will see a drop down list of your Landmark types. you can then type in the name, address, city, state, zip of the location and some additional information.
Using the Landmark locations in HWeb AgentTo pull up the
grid in Agent press <CTRL><SHIFT> - L.
This will work for all locations in the extra stops and hourly details fields. To configure it for the address fields, you have to turn it on per location type
