Web Reservations on your iPhone and web-enabled devices.
If you have a Hudson web reservation site, you can now have
your clients make web reservations with your company on their iPhoneor iPod touch** devices. With the release of HWeb iQuick –
travelers can launch a browser on their web-enabled Apple devices (including
the soon to be released Apple iPad) and enter in a special address that will
launch the HWeb iQuick reservation system. If they then save the shortcut to their home screen, an icon will
appear, which when touched, will launch the web reservation interface directly
on their iPhone.
NOTE: To avoid confusion, HWeb iQuick is not an application that is downloaded to your iPhone. HWeb iQuick is a web-based application (a.k.a. "cloud computing"), hosted on Hudson servers, that your iPhone uses to record reservations. It is accessed via a special URL / web address, that is loaded on your iPhone browser.
Following the abbreviated menu screens, clients will select
their airport, pickup / dropoff location, date and time of travel.Available services will be displayed followed by a screen that collects
preferred payment and contact details.Upon completion of the booking process, an email confirmation is
delivered to the designated address.Have an iPhone or iPod touch? Want to give your clients access to HWeb
iQuick?Use the following format /
URL to access HWeb iQuick:
If you do not
have an iPhone but want to see how your site will look for your clients that
do, you can enter the link for your company into your web browser. Apple’s
Safari web browser provides the best simulation and may be downloaded at no charge: http://www.apple.com/safari/download. You can then load the URL and resize the browser window so that it approaches the
dimensions of an iPhone / iPod Touch.
**HWeb iQuick may be launched from an iPod Touch, providing it has Internet connectivity
Determining what URL you should use:
To determine the URL your clients should be using to access the HWeb iQuick site, go to your company's marketing website:
(ex: www.acmelimousineservice.com).
Select the button or link on your site that takes you to your online Hudson Web Reservation site.
Note the URL at the top of the new page, where you begin the web reservation process: (ex: https://acmelimo.hudsonltd.net/res)
Remove the "res" from the end of the string displayed above and replace with: "/app/iquick"
Your final URL, the one you will provide to your clients will then look like:
https://acmelimo.hudsonltd.net/app/iquick
Note: You do not need and should not use "www." in the URL string
Loading a GROUP Portal in HWeb iQuick
In addition to the URL configured above, you will add / append the following at the end, in order to launch a customized HWeb iQuick Portal: ?group=<GROUPID>. For Example, if you have a group whose web / Portal ID is "WIDGETS", your URL for the HWeb iQuick Portal would look like this:
Adding a Home Screen (a.ka. Desktop) HWeb iQuick Shortcut to your iPhone
If you want to create a Home Screen shortcut that will instantly load the browser on your iPhone and take you to the welcome screen of the web reservation system, follow the steps outlined below:
Launch the browser on your iPhone / iPod touch
Tap the URL / Browser address area at the top of the screen
Enter the complete URL, using the touch keyboard, according to the instructions outlined in the preceding section. Tap the GO or Enter key to load the iQuick screen.
Tap the " + " symbol on the lower browser navigation bar
Select / Tap "Add to Home Screen"
